As a Counselling Psychologist, I work drawing on a variety of therapeutic modalities including those from cognitive, dynamic and humanistic paradigms. My professional philosophy lies within the existential exploration of meanings. I support people in growing awareness through a process of deep enquiry and re-evaluation. I help empower my clients to make important changes which, in turn, help them attain a greater well-being. I individually tailor my therapeutic approach to each person’s needs and depending on their particular circumstances. I have a special interest in trauma, dissociate disorders, including psychosis and various aspects of personality and a personal identity.
My background is diverse. I trained as a medical doctor in Russia. I have also studied Craniosacral therapy, Reiki and meditation. Whilst on a quest of further self-development, I realised that Psychology provides the much needed interface between physical and mental health and I embed this knowledge into my work. I work across the whole spectrum of mental health problems and appreciate Psychology for all its diversity and complexity.
Over the years, I have taken part and presented at various conferences at national and international levels on the subject of psychotic communication of trauma. I am a big proponent of practice-based evidence and my work is holistic by nature.
I am a member of Critical Psychotherapy network, International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (ISPS) as well as Psychosis and Complex Mental Health Faculty, Division of Clinical Psychology. I am also an editor of Counselling Psychology newsletters.
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”– Carl Jung
