Mindfulness was the topic for discussion earlier this week on BBC Radio 2’s programme Steve Wright in the Afternoon.  Presenter Steve Wright interviewed mindfulness and meditation expert Andy Puddicombe, founder of Headspace, a digital site offering guided meditation training.

Andy explained how taking just 10 minutes a day away from texting, phone calls, conversation and work to focus on the present moment can help refresh the mind and reduce stress.  You can hear the full interview on BBC i-player

In his latest book, Andy discusses how mindfulness can help during pregnancy.  Mindfulness classes have also been introduced into some British schools to help pupils manage stress and anxiety, as reported in a BBC news item recently.

At The Oxford Development Centre mindfulness is used in conjunction with other psychotherapies to help individuals with a variety of different problems.  To find out more, follow the link to our website page which has lots of useful information about Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and its use in treating psychological disorders.
