Oxfordshire’s longest established psychology consultancy, The Oxford Development Centre, is celebrating its 18th anniversary this month.
Clinical Psychologist Dr Claudia Herbert founded the original centre in Witney in 1998 to provide high quality, research-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and other health professionals in a comfortable and welcoming, non-clinical, non-judgmental setting. The practice offers comfy sofas, big cushions and a safe haven for people who are experiencing a wide variety of psychological difficulties to share their problems and experiences.
A specialist in the treatment of stress and trauma, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Claudia now heads a team of very experienced consultants who work together to provide a collaborative, sympathetic and holistic approach to treatment. Qualified in the most recognised and cutting-edge therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the latest psycho-sensory approaches, they draw on elements of a range of leading therapies to create treatment programmes specifically designed for the needs of each individual.
The centre has grown since its foundation almost 20 years ago and now has a practice in Stroud, Gloucestershire, as well as in Witney, Oxfordshire. It also offers medico-legal services, professional supervision and Claudia often appears in TV and radio interviews.
“We aim to provide a caring, highly professional service to help people achieve a balanced lifestyle and emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being,” explains Dr Herbert.
To mark the occasion, the centre is launching a new website for potential clients and other health professionals and anyone interested in psychology with lots of new, in-depth information and approaches – visit www.oxdev.co.uk
